I have a question what would you consider a reasonable price for genuine original Maratuka kits, I have the Cessna 310Q and the Pitts S2. I would post them internationally at cost for Post and packaging. I can put pictures of the kits if there is any interest, I cant send anything till after 4th of August as I am going on holiday next week, ironically to the US but airline baggage limits wouldn't stretch to 2 kits.

For a long time they were all hanging right between $200 and $300. I still think that's a good range for them but hard to find one for under $300 lately. Maybe between $300 and $400 in this market. The 310 might exceed $400 a bit and the Pitts might drop below it a bit.

Hi Greg,
Thanks for the info, I would like to sell to the guys on here who obviously have an interest in them. I am just looking for a fair price plus packing and postage at cost price. I could put them on the bay but first shout to you guy's.
Jim.

Remember....I'm just guessing here and also, the higher prices I've seen lately were all on eBay...the users here may be a bit more savvy and be less willing to pay those premium prices for 30~40 year old technology.

I kind of thought that your prices would be based on the web and ebay. If I was to have a reasonably priced offer I would consider it again I would have to check the postage to the USA first.

These guys are cashing theirs out. Click on the seller's 'other items' link. They have a lot of these kits. Obviously some kind of collector toy shop. Note the shipping charges-

I see what you mean, the name says it all "investment Toys". The kit start at over $300 and then domestic shipping starting at $46.02 and going to (where a lot are set at) $128.42, these guys are a joke!

As a buddy of mine use to say, "They aren't out to make a living, they are out to make a killing!"

Well, believe it or not, they're still out there for a reasonable price occasionally. $150 for a Sr. Corsair kit is pretty good. I think they were going for that much back in the 80s when they were still being produced.

I just saw this ad the kit looks in good shape AND I consider it be reasonably priced but right now the only thing in my wallet is a couple moths that starved to death.

I'm trying my best not to be interested. I've kits, half built planes, fully built, etc. all over my basement and I haven't flown or built one in over 10 years. It IS tempting though. Never had a Spit...

If I wasn't out of work I would be interested myself. I have had the Spit on my short list for years. Right now I have a VK Models Fokker DR.1 on the building board and a Top Flite 182 to finish. With nothing to spend on materials progress is slow.

Well, that's a coincedence. I'm kinda watching a VK Nieuport right now. If that falls through or I come to my senses first, I may have to pull the trigger on the Spit...although it probably won't be around then.

Not bad you saved $50 over purchasing a new kit.

As long as it's all there and the wood isn't so dried out that it crumbles when I look at it hard.

I don't mind replacing a piece here and there. I am concerned that the decals will disintegrate though... That has happened with both Royal kits I've had. Totally useless.
The be honest, I did not even know this VK kit was still being produced. I guess that's a good thing that it's been around that long. This will be my first WWI subject which is surprising seeing that I really like a lot of them and I tend to like bipes in general.
I have a set of plans for a 80" Nieuport 28 but no kits. Looking forward to it.
Now I get to explain to the wife that the airplane bug has bitten again after 10~12 years and I'll be disappearing into the basement for hours at a time. Oh well...it'll keep her young...lol

Proctor Enterprises still produces VK kits but with better hardware.
