anyone built a Spirit of Saint Lewis
Building Spirit of Saint Lewis and I need to get the flags that are on the cowling. Its a Ziroli 130" wing span with a G-62. The plane is about finished I just need the flags that go on the nose. Anyone know what flags it has there are 13 of them. Thanks Mike

I assume you meant Spirit of Saint Louis.
see http://www.atpm.com/7.01/washington-...f-st-louis.jpg.
Seems to be at least 19 flags. However the original photos with Lindbergh show no flags which may simplify your work! ( see " Lindbergh Flights Enigmatic Hero " by Von Hardesty published by Harcourt Inc. )
There is ( or was a few years ago ) a full size replica hanging in Minneapolis airport which I thought was a little plain, so maybe it was similar to the plane as flown .

The flags were added after the flight. They were added as he toured with the plane in Europe. He also flew it to all the states in the union at that time, before letting the Smithsonian "borrow" it; he kept ownership of it while he was alive.
