Default Stinson sr-9

This belongs to a friend of mine Ken, He just finished it up this weekend. I sprayed the clearcoat on for him Thursday. He has an OS 160 twin for power. It might be a little underpowered. It weighs 21 lbs. It is from a Top Flight kit. 1/5 scale I believe.

Thanks for posting the pictures, it looks great. It is inspirational for those of us trying to finish one of these kits, like myself. Very nice color scheme, well done rib tapes and rivets. Can you give any more details on the covering and paint used, and if it needed nose weight with the O.S. 160 twin?
Thanks again!

He has the on board battery mounted to the outside of the firewall. The covering is part red coverite and white coverite on the rest. Paint is automotive accrilic enamel both the red and the black. I will check to see if he used any additional nose weight. The onboard battery is 4 csize batteries.

Wow, nice plane! After checking in on several build threads of this kit I can appreciate the 100's of hours of work that went into it. I do hope he upgraded to a single piece landing gear or reinforced the stock gear in some way. The two-piece has a tendency to rip out on a bumpy landing.

I had one with an OS 160 twin and it flew very scale like.

rc-sport What prop did you run on your 160 twin? How much did yours weigh?
I don't know if Ken changed the landing gear in any way. I did ask Ken about the nose weight , He said so far he hasn't added any and it is pretty close. Thanks Rich
