Could you lop off a few inches from the aft end of the canisters? Might increase the noise a bit but would move the cg forward.

Not just everyone can weld aluminum that thin and do an acceptable job of it.

Unfortunatly a few weeks back I took off with not enough air speed and cartwheeled her. She did not get smashed up that bad and I have almost fixed her up. I am haing issue trying to figure out a way to fit the Zenoah 62 in her. Looks like the cylindar head and the front landing gear support beam are getting in the way of each other, Does anyone have any ideas?

Glen
I have a quadra 100 in mine, you can't see it at all. I'll post a few pics tomorrow.

thanks, I am thinking of mounting it like I mounted the Z 38 with the prop shaft/reduction gear on the bottom and the engine cylinder off to the left. this would put the muffler exhaust point of the left side of the plane utilizing the engine air intake tube. The issue and I will have to check this is the carb 90 degree bend, and if I can use it with this mounting position. As it is now if I mount it this way the carb will interfear with the inner cabaine mounting points. I want to mount this in a way so I avoid as much re-engineering as possible. With the mount I explained the spark plug cab will rub against the cowel. I was thinking of pounding a small buldge in it to give it the space it needs. I need to get it off the stand and in the plane and experiment. I ordered the wood I need so when I get it I will start it.

Tom thanks for the pics did u have to carve into the top 1x1/2 cross brace that supports the y struts? I would like to mount mine like yours but the carb is in the way and hit that top cross brace, this is what I love about this hobby there is always something to do and re think and re engineer I love it
