RE: Home Made Strut Clearances
One problem I see with your design is that the top of the shock strut does not pivot like the real one, so either the tube in a tube will have to be sloppy to make it work or the gear will bind. I like your gear door.

RE: Home Made Strut Clearances
Thanks Guys,
I will try over at RCSB - i have run out of free posts so I will have to become a site supporter i think. Seems a little slower than here through.
TFF - thanks for your help. The top of the shock strut will actually pivot in a fore aft direction - i just have not figured out how to do that bit yet! The outer sleeve is 12.7 (0.5") dia tube, while the pivot bar is only 6.35 (0.250") rod, so i may just open the top of the outer sleeve up, and put a shoulder bolt through. But still thinking on this one!
Thanks guys.
