Favourite Scale Models in Flight
Hi Guys,
I seem to accidentally overturned a hornets nest on the "Best Scale Photos" thread which is something I never intended. I think the best thing to do is start a new thread where basically any picture of a scale model in flight will go down well. All I ask is the model is the main subject. I like to see close ups of models - to show off the builders skills more than anything, in creating an illusion of the real thing. I'm not worried about control horns & minor things that - afterall these are flying models - I just want to see.........models in the air - taking off, landing, blue sky, cloudy sky, scenary in the background etc - doesn't bother me.
To start the ball rolling........ A few favourites of mine.
So basically there are only three tules for this thread -
1 The model must be the main subject of the picture.
2 There is no rule 2!
3 Any problems refer to rule 1
Looking forward to seeing all your flying pictures.
TTFN,
Neil
ps Some of the pictures above have already been posted elsewhere, I think, but here they are again[]

Man, I don't envy whoever as the guts to post next!
You know when I look at models like these of modern era aircraft, I get an overwhelming feeling that I'm not even in the same hobby! About all that ties us together I suppose is a love of aircraft in general and maybe some electronic bits.

Hi Guys,
Tom, superb pictures - just what I wanted to see - love the Hind. Another lovely looking aircraft from Hawker.
Fletch, I know exactly where you're coming from - WW2 is my era of models - easy building compared to WW1 & the modern jet models. Starting to feel my age
I think this thread could work out nicely - keep 'em coming[8D]
TTFN,
Neil
ps You guys are posting pictures faster than I can reply - this has gotta be good

Photo credit on the first to Dave St. John who took what is probably the best photo I have of my Sea Ranger.

RE: Favourite Scale Models in Flight
Awesome pictures guys, this will be a good thread. "The less rules the better" is usually the best way with anything.
Wish I had something to add but I don't have much for scale models. I built my Waco from a Pica kit back in 91 but it has never flown, was out of the hobby for many years but back in now. The Waco needs to be redone, has some hangar trash. A bit of wing tip damage to fix and some new covering. Working on a Sig 1/4 scale clipped cub on floats this winter, will post some pictures when I get it flying in the spring. Have many other models but none are scale. Looking forward to enjoying more pictures.

Hi Guys,
No rules other than scale aircraft in flight, anything from taxi-ing to landing as far as I'm concerned. Anything that might inspire others - that also means helicopters - love the chopper pics - that 2nd one going over the power lines looks superb![8D]
I'd better start dusting off a few more pics
keep up the good work.
TTFN,
Neil

Just got these pictures sent to me from Joe c. the owner...... It took 4 years to get into the air and in that time our aluminum finish process has started to weather naturally. Hope to get more pictures soon.

Here's a couple of awful photos from my Snipe's maiden flight just to prove that it does actually fly! These are "recovered" from almost unusably underexposed (and blurry) photos, which was about all we managed on that day in the rotten, failing light. Just think of all the rotten, awful aerial photos made of real aircraft (particularly during WWI) and I think you'll agree that these fit right in!

Here are a few of my favorite photos from the Ohio and Hoosier Dawn Patrols - I've posted a couple of these on the Scale Photo thread, but some of these will work better here:
