RE: Gilman Springs RC Flyers Dawn Patrol Fly-In
Gentlemen. This get together was NOT a contest in any way shape or form it was a FLYIN where anything WW1 goes. I hope this explains everything. Thanks Mel.
AND we are getting closer to having more pictures soon. [I HOPE]

Abufletcher. Thank you for your help offer. We had a swap meet today and we have a volunteer to help us from a local hobby shop. I thank you again and we hope this will work out. Regards Mel

In the initial video posted, I though the guy flying the large RC triplane was nuts! Now, that I see it was actually a full-scale replica, I KNOW the pilot was nuts!

Great set of photos! Looks like a great event and wow, those are some BIG DVII's! I hope you guys took up a collection and bought that poor DrI pilot a paint job!
Who knows, maybe someday I'll be joining you since Moreno Valley is one of the places we've been looking at houses.

Beautiful photo's. Thanks for posting.
Q. Somebody knows what type/brand of wheels are used on this D-VII? ? They look bigger than the standard Dubro 9.33" wheels. Just wondering because we are searching for some good wheels for our D-VII project (5x 1/3 scale) in own design.
Thnx, Teus

Hey all ya WWI aero fans,
Don't miss the TCM (Turner Classic Movies) premiere of "HELL'S ANGELS" this friday night April 23 at 11:00pm (check your local listing for time)
Released in 1930, the production took over two and a half years to make this epic war film. So start poping the pop-corn and turn back the clock 96 years...
FALSE ALARM....sorry but I was going by my satalite guide and even IMdB (the Internet Movie data Base) website shows that Howard Hughes' movie was showing. Not some biker movie from '69.[:@][:'(]
Lesson learned. Never ever trust what your guide says. I was so looking forward to this cause I haven't see it since the seventies. Oh-well, guess I'll have to buy it now.

No, it's not just you
I was able about an hour ago to see them but not now. I see the same message you see. I think they need to resize them for posting to RCU. The files are too big I think.

I want to especially thank Darrel Whitiker AKA SKEETER for the pictures we do have however.

I suggest you upload the photos directly to RCU (which then automatically resizes them for display) rather than linking to external files. Uploading to RCU is REALLY REALLY simple. Just click on the "Post Reply" button then in that dialog box click on upload files. I've uploaded hundreds and hundreds of photos this ways.
BUT for some reason this function does work if you're using the Safari web browser. So I switched to Firefox (which is about 1000% better anyway).

I uploaded mine to PhotoBucket(free) and then resized them to 640x480 and then copied and pasted them in the comment section of the post. Upsides to this- you don't have to click each picture to see the full size. Downside- takes longer to download the thread. If you delete the picture from PhotoBucket it won't show up on the post anymore. I already have alot of pictures on PhotoBucket and still have only used 10% of allowed space. I have the slowest DSL line available from verizon, because i live in the boonies, and it still doesn't take very long. If someone is still using a modem i'm sorry about the long downloads, but it really is worth it.
