Seriously, I just started using a palm sander on my builds. They are a great tool.
This may be a little early, but I was curious, what primer will you use prior to paint and to lay up the panel lines?

David, this is a really nice build. Quality work, man are you going on vacation after this build. I'm sure your going to need it. I cannot wait to see the maiden of this monster. You, Pandis and Burly need to get down to Florida and put it down on the scale boys. Not much building going on like this that I have seen. Well the structures look really strong. Keep it up David you'll be on to the next project by January. Skunk works have you lined up on the SR project. Oh Ya!

David, I was curious why you decided to go with the wing linkage that you went with instead of using a scale setup?

If Pandi ever decides to compete with this project... He'll surely beat us with his flying skills and write off the few static points for the non-scale linkage.
Early on we decided that we wanted to keep it simple, solid and with good throws. The black Dubro Heavy duty horns are proven to be tough and will snap off with a hard belly flop with out any damage to the structure. (ask me how I know)

Pandi is a hard core flyer and rarely puts less than 10-15 flights a session. You won't ever see him kicking back in his chair. He's always charging, wrenching and getting ready to put something back in the air all day long.

Here's the stuff I received from CST...
3000 strand count carbon tow
1" wide sample of carbon tow that's bound with a fine spider web vale.
410 epoxy filler.
The 410 is some kind of weird thermo plastic filler that's super fine.
Can't wait to try it out!

Progress Update:
Same crap... Different wing...
1. Wheel wells are completed with bottom sheeting glassed from the inside.
2. Expanding foam is injected into the front of the wheel well.
3. All hinge blocks are installed.
4. Right aileron is sheeted, beveled and hinged.
5. Right flap is trimmed and hinged.
6. Top right sheeting "door skin" is completed.
Gotta glass the butt seams on the inside of the sheeting plus a little more sanding before sheeting the right wing panel.
I'm wanna be glassing both wing panels over the 4 day Thanksgiving holiday.

RE: TA 152H Meister Scale Project Grun 4
Well... I wanted to be glassing but I'm still under estimating how much time everything takes. I got the right wing panel sheeted and a bunch of sanding done. I still have the right flap bay to finish out, leading edges and wing tips.
I'm thinking I should get the wing fitted, drilled and mounted to the fuselage before glassing it just in case some adjustments are needed.
I don't even have words for how big this thing is. I can barely get it all in the camera view finder from the furthest corner of the shop.

All I can say is WOW! I can only imagine the balsa costs alone on something that size. I bet it is going to be awesome to fly!

Flap Bays are Doneski !! Wing panels still need leading edges and wing tips.
Since the leading edges don't have any influence on how the wing fits to the fuselage, I'm going to fit, drill and bolt the wings to the fuselage now.
Sure will be nice to roll this thing out on it's feet for the first time.

RE: TA 152H Meister Scale Project Grun 4
Finally got the nerve up to start trimming and fitting the wings. looks like I nailed the wing incidence. My aluminum bar touches the front and rear of the fuselage and stays in contact with the bottom of the airfoil. As I expected... there is a large void missing at the leading edge and a slight gap in the wing saddles that will need to be addressed. Also measured from wing tip to rudder post = 95-1/2" on both sides. Doesn't get any better than this.
Just standing back in shock saying to myself... What have I created.
