Ok Pandi... Decision time...
1. I've glassed the wing.
2. Flow coated the glass with epoxy and sanded.
3. Primed first coat with acrylic urethane.
4. Filled dings and trouble spots with spot putty and wet sanded.
5. Primed second coat with automotive spray bomb and wet sanded.
This thing is smooth... She squeaks sitting on the foam blocks when I sand. LOL!
I can hit this thing with a third beauty coat of acrylic urethane and wet sand again or we can save the weight and have burleyman apply the panel line tape and primer as it is. I tried to get different lighting on the pictures to bring out the surface condition.
If it were me, I put the tape on it and prime as is and save the weight.
You guys call it...

To Zimmerit or not to Zimmerit, this is the question?
Zimmerit was discontinued from factory application on 9 September 1944 and from field application on 7 October 1944. This was due to concerns that projectile impacts could ignite it. These proved false, but the order was never rescinded.

I can't bring myself to deliver this beast all blotchy and stuff... I put a light final coat on the fuse. Will knock it down with worn 400 wet (got plenty of that)

DD,
Well the TA152 was delivered to Burley Skunk works....407 miles and 10 hours later...I was home.
Project is on a brief hold...pending a quick makeover on a 110" Spitfire in Johnstons' BrumHilde scheme....
Burley has done some fantasitc research and has spoke with Jerry Crandall and others...and we are going with what is believed to be the most accurate and realistic scheme of Grun 4. Its not the standard cookie color scheme....so stay tuned for this unique and not often seen before "accurate" representation of GRUN 4.

plus its going to take me weeks upon weeks to get all the
high desert crack dust off this plane. although the good
thing is I can use it to fill all the darn pinholes in this thing.
.................................................. ..............................
I kid of course, there arent any pinholes, just shoddy work
Cant wait to paint Grun 4 after Brumhilde
