70" Storch landing gears drawings?

1 Attachment(s)
I like to know whose Fieseler Storch model this is:

Ws 70"
Length 45"
Power 40sz glow

It needs oleos and struts, i don't have a clue whose kit or plans it's built from and nor the fellow who has it.

I would appreciate if someone on here can identify it so it's landing gears either could be bought or be made from plans if identified as a scratch built model.

Could this be a swenson kit however the winspan would have to 96 inches. I am restoring a swenson storch and have a full set of plans including the u/c setup
which is a sprung orleo set up if you like i will post some photos

I have a set of Dennis Bryant plans that measure 70.5 inches.
Walt

fi156, I'd sure like to see the plans for the Swenson landing gear.

Hi Fieseler156,

Couple guys have indicated that this model could be built from Bob Holman/Dennis Bryant plans due to 70.5" ws specs.

I sure would like to pictures of the landing gear drawings and gear built if possible as i'm sure those will be required to make newer Lg for it.

Yes i would like to see your photos of the landing gear set-up, my model is indeed built from Dennis Bryant plans, everything on this model matches DB plans, now only thing my model is missing
are the main landing gears, i believe DB calls for fixed gears w/out oleo struts but i want to add oleos on the new landing gear that prolly i'll end up making out of airfoil shape aluminum tubes.

I've recovered enough from hand surgery to spend some time in my shop; so my DB Storch is finally going on the board.

You are correct, the DB landing gear does not have sprung struts. I have a plan, but would sure like to see some other photos.

Hey Walt,

Can you post high res pictures of the plans where LG is shown how to make it, i want to see both options as if LG with oles are not possible then i'll make ones as on the plans. Thanks

I have engine for but i'm not sure how i can connect engine to brass scale muffler on this model, i don't think regular muffler will fit it due to muffler's extension arm's length!.

I'll post pictures of this muffler on the model soon, so you know what i'm talking about....

Oops. Poor choice of words. I do not have printed plans; merely an idea.

Oh i see what u meant, i plan in mind but not on paper.....lol

Here is another picture showing another type of in cowl muffler system, wonder where i can get it from or something that would work as an alternative...

RE: 70" Storch landing gears drawings?

Can anyone help me get drawings for the Storch's landing gears please, i got this model and want to make wire gears but i don't know exact length of the gears and the triangular strut that is connecting main strut to the fuselage?

I think 5/32" piano wire will make this gear very nicely.....

I believe that if you find drawings of any kind of "scale", you will find that they are oleo types, and not just single strut, and really quite sophicated.

Yes i agree with you Les but Dennis Bryant did designed this model at 1/7th scale with 70" ws with fixed wire landing gears!....

If i could find bigger then 1/7th scale with oleo struts, i will try to make functional type but at minimum, i'll live with fixed gear type.

These are great pictures Airportbum, Thanks. These drawing images tell me how the gear is made and mounted but it these does not tell me length of for the main strut from it's mounting point besides the fuselage to the axle?

If i can get that length as fully extended strut, i will start making landing gears for my model.

Thanks Walt, between ur pics and Airportbum's pictures i'm sure i will make landing gears for this model.

Guys i really need to know the length of the main Strut!, from the point where it attaches to links sides of the fuselage just slight lower then the window frames to the axle, if i can get this length i'll be on my way this will be first part i'll be making
these first.

Hi, the working part of the LG leg is 8" from the center of the mounting point to the center of the axle.
