I started this project in 2002. I put it away for a couple of years and then resumed working on it in the winter months. I have a landscape company so my projects get attention mostly in winter. I am getting ready to permanently glass the top of the main cabin in place. The top is already completed with Ram system lighting installed. I have to get everything just right before I do this as it won't be accessible once the top is in place. Rigt now all the windows are masked but once the table is mounted in the galley I will take final pics before closing it up. All interior was glassed and painted before assembly. All outside surfaces of the cabin section will be re-sanded, primed and painted after the top is in place. I hope to finish this project this coming winter and will work on it when I can this summer when time permits. Thanks to all for any interest that you have in this project and also for sharing information on your projects as well.

Deathwish,
Only so much room to work with there. Also, in terms of the scale involved it would be about 6 feet away with some type of wall or partition between them. Besides , this model is far from being bult true to scale, I'm just trying to add a little visual interest to the insides of the model as the windows are clear. Thanks so much for your acute observations.

Great job RSAT. Obviously a bunch of us are following your progress and pixs are worth a thousand words as they say. I am building an F-31 also, and not as far along as you. Am looking for good ideas of course.

Awesome job on that interior Rsat! I really like it. The tiny USA Today newspaper is a great touch!

I agree, though the toilet would be better served with a folded up curtain to hide it while being used

I probably should have done that but its to late now, the top was epoxied on yesterday. Been working on this for a really long time and want to get it finished soon. The newspaper and other items were purchsed at a miniatures and doll house show that I went to. There is a lot of stuff for people who like lots of interior detail in their boats. The entire cabin section with the deck lifts out of the boat to provide access to the mechanics of the vessel. I will be posting pictures of the cabin and hull separately so you can see how it was constructed. The hull section is ready for paint and as soon as the cabin roof joints are glassed sanded and primed it will be painted as well. Ordering running gear and hardware from Mack products next week so I can start getting that going as well. It looks like nearly a decade of work will be coming to an end soon.

Bob,
Thanks for the interest in my project. Here are a couple of pics of the boat after I clear coated and buffed the upper and lower cabin tops. I need to respray the sidees with color as there are a few spots i am not happy with. Eventually I wil have the entire vessel to a mirror like finish. Lots of buffing and sanding involved.

Rsat,

Sometimes RCU doesn't want to work, that is, it wond show thimbnails or download pics.  For me at least, Saturday was one of those days.

From the pictures you've included you already have a pretty good shine on the finish, a great base for color.  And if the third picture in the first bunce is any indication, you are something of a "ham" in the picture category .

I've been following your build log, along with others on other forums, because I have the kit and before I commit to building I want to understand what I'm up against.  Seems the hardest part, bar none, is the hull sheeting.  After that depends on the modeler..  Your scale achievements are extraordinary by the way.  You have set a mark to work towards.
