What are the approximate dimensions/plans for you the second mount? I notice a mounting hole for the camera; anything other than gravity to keep the camera/mount "on the deck"? How about a teather between the bottom of the mount and the battery compartment cover? When not used to anchor the camera mount, a small screw can be inserted to act as a handle to remove the hatch.

On my boat I can use the lid and the hand strap on the camera. That should be enough.
I'm not sure about holding it down yet, Still thinking about that.

how about two pieces of lumber running the width of the boat. One on either side of the framework just under the gunwales. Use a screw per side (into the beams not the boat) to create pinch tension then just attach the camera platform to those? maybe?

I'm leaving the camera idea for a while and just thought I would show you guys this. The keel is 1/2" poplar. The formers are 1/4" door skin material. The stuffing box will be 3/8".
I plan on starting a new thread and soon as I work a few details out.
I just throwing these out as a little teaser.
40" long shrimp boat conversion.

O.K. Wayne, that will be nice. I notice you haven't cut out formers #1 & #9 yet and you don't show the transom. Did you happen to pick up the plans for the 48" Lobster boat at the same time? I have the plans for the 24", 40" & 48" Beals Island Lobster Boat.
When you start your new buld thread you will transfer/copy all of theses nice pictures over to it , right?

BTW, I haven't seen any beer on your boat. Here's a couple of links in case you're interested, they're free shipping, Buy It Now auctions.

The last picture has all the formers including the transom.
I got the plans on RC Groups. If I remember, He drew them to 40" then allowed anyone to download them. They are in PDF format. From there you could take them and have them blown up. I guess I missed the plans for the 48 Inch one.
Where did you get them?

Oh oh here we go again.. Time to get some snacks and sit in front of the monitor for weeks. How do you expect us to work on our own boats when we are addicted to your build threads?
