On the last post in the upper right hand corner click REPLY.
A text box will open.
type your text.
In the lower part of the text box in blue are two options.

BETA: Multi-File Upload with Progress Bar!
AND
Click here to upload images and files!

I like the BETA one.
After the text is typed click one of those and another box opens to upload the pictures.

Once finished it will state FINISHED, click on that.

Then click OK at the bottom of the normal text box and your finished.

Default RE: Scratch Built Shrimp Boat.

I have been raising the boom up and down by hand and something had been bugging me. The cable that goes from the top of the rigging to the end of the boom. The cord is Kevlar fishing line.
Heres the problem: when the boom is raised the cord/cable becomes slack and just kind of hangs out in the breeze or does not lay flat up against the rigging.
So to solve that I took 2 small fishing split shot sinkers and crimped them on the line. Problem solved. Now when the boom is raised the cord/cable lays up against the rigging.

Depending how big the file size is, 3 or 4 will normally work using the BETA version.

Shrimp boats are busy places. This build may take a little longer than first thought.

Hey Michael
THANK YOU very much for the photos. I've got a lot more work to do after seeing the pictures.
The motor, I bought from Harbor Models.
its an 800 series. We thought about a gear reduction, but running a 2" prop didn't think it would be any help. I'll just have to use throttle managment. Thats actually something I like to do with the lobster boat. I turn the throttle trim all the way up and I never have to even touch the trigger/throttle and I just put put around.

No problem believe me im sure i will be asking alot of questions I can all the pics you want i think ima order my motor and all today what about stearing and all that do you need a specific one to go with a specific remote and i think ima put a few more batteries for balast if you had two in the 30 then on a boat 10" bigger ithink you could do at least two more that and i gues you order your shaft and all after you lay out the kill and get a mesurement im going back offshore in about a week for 28 days so when i come back i will have two weeks to build if i can go ahead an order stuff . My wife is going to miss me for real when i start this project lol!!

Here is the motor, 800 direct drive motor

Here is the stuffing box.
3/16" Shaft and Stuffing Box

Battery
I am using a Hobbico Torqmaster Mini Maintenance-Free Sealed lead acid 12 volts, 4.5ah

Transmitter is, well up to you. For a simple boat with throttle and steering only, a pistol grip radio works great. Bob found them for me for $15.00 each. If you have any more items that function then you will need a different radio with more channels.

Wayne,

How about using a 1/4 oz. slip sinker for that "stay" cable (I think that's what Michael called it) to make it lay flat against the rigging? It could be a round one or torpedo shaped; round would probably work, and look, better. You could even paint it.

That would work, This is what I had around the house. I'll put that in the memory bank.
