Hi Deathwish and Bob,
I appreciate you following the build and your nice comments. Hopefully this build will help someone else if they are contemplating a similar build.
I just installed the top trim decking that runs the lenght of the boat. Starting to install the fore deck planking. Done the same way as the hatches.

Hi Tom,
Glad your on board also. I have almost all the mahogany trim pieces on. Will be starting on the cockpit seats soon. This is good I'm running out of wood pieces. LOL

OK, I didn't like the way the rear part of the decking on the front deck was meeting the windshield frame. I cut out the rear and inserted a trim piece. This makes a nice smooth neat transition. Instrument panel has been constructed. Next the frames for the seats will be built and fitted to the cockpit.

After comparing pictures, that does give it a much cleaner look. Is that about a 1/8" piece you've added there? It appears you did a masterful job of shaping the trim piece so it met the decking very smoothly with a very gentle slope toward the windshield. Then again, maybe that's just optical illusion. Any way, it looks nice.

Hi Bob,
It's 1/4 in. trim piece of mahogany stock. I tapered the edge that fits against the windshield frame and made the cutout a little tight so it would be a press fit. Made a nice tight joint.

Seat frames have all been constructed and fit into the cockpit area. These will be glued to the floor boards Everything will be removed as one unit for access to radio and engine equipment.

Will you put in the stuffing tube before or after fiberglassing? I've seen it done both ways.

Construction is pretty much complete. I'm planning on installing all the hardware and running gear before I finish the boat. I'll drill all mounting holes and trial fit all the hardware. This will make it easier to install everything without damaging the finish on the boat.
I have drilled the holes and mounted the rudder and stuffing tube as well as the motor. More to follow.

Nice job on the rudder!

Are you going to dress the propeller or leave it as cast?

Hi Bob,
Yes, there will be a strut support. There will be a lot of rough fitting and I might forget something, just keep reminding me. LOL
I have the windshield rough fitted, this will be installed when the boat is finished.

Hi Larry,
We are almost at the glassing stage. I ended up coming down with a nasty cold and haven't been up to doing anything. Be patient we'll get there.
Thanks,
Fred

I built This Dumas Runabout about 15 years ago, I went through sever motor setups util I got the one I like. Iadded a6 volt water pump under the front floor that cools the motor and exits out thetwo transom exhaust outlets. Itlooks cool even sitting still and water is pumpingout the exhausts. I also addedtwo3 volt lightsmounted on side of thewindshield.I havehada lot of boats, butthis isstillmy favorite boat to run.
