Love the birdcage masts! Which kit is that? I noticed that you didn't get caught up in the gun turret color conundrom.

A 'less than perfect' modification of revell's cheap Arizona vintage kit. Just could not find any kit with wire tower and I love its vintage look.

All in all, the cage masts look fairly good, though the fire control stations carried on the cages was more of an open air platform with splinter shielding around it. The added weight of the enclosed two level sites was part of the reason for the change to the tripods. Another problem was the cage masts were suseptible to high winds as was demonstrated by the USS Michigan having a cage mast fail in gale force winds
