New large Lindberg kits comming out soon ???
I was at a hobby shop about 20 miles down the road and asked if I could order a Lindberg 32nd scale pt-109, he told me they were out of stock, but look on the Internet because the Lindberg Rep told him Lindberg was comming out with many large ship models, has anyone know about this, thanks, Randy

RE: New large Lindberg kits comming out soon ???
As far as I know, kits like the PT-109 and even the exalted Blue Devil Destroyer go in and out of production from time to time. I think the PT-109 is out of production at this time.
Lindberg is an old company and they have many molds, may of which I'd like to see again.
If however I am wrong and/or they are going to re-release a lot of old kits or produce new ones, that would be fine and dandy with me.
In any event, the 1/32 PT-109 can often be found on eBay.

RE: New large Lindberg kits comming out soon ???
Had to resurrect this old post because I have a very positive answer for the original question.
Lindberg is bringing some old kits back from the dead. Some, according to the release dates of my source, have already been released presumably.
This is a partial list of the nautical kits only although the Zeppelin does not qualify as a waterborne ship. The first 5 are prized because they are very large kits and very suitable for R/C. The Constellation, PT-109 and Sport Fisherman have been out of production for a long time. I also have not seen the Air Force Rescue Boat since the mid 90s and that was only in a catalog. The 1/72 Japanese subs are brand new and have been mentioned on this forum already, if I recall correctly.
70811 Sport Fisherman 1:16 $100.00 12/07
70813 PT-109 1:32 $90.00 12/07
70814 Chris Craft Constellation 1:20 $100.00 12/07

70825 Bismark Battleship 1:350 $40.00 12/07

Someone should ban all posts about Lindberg boat kits being available !!
I have so many boat projects going on right now, that I can NOT even lie to myself, about buying those beauties.
Save a few for me guys.

RE: New large Lindberg kits comming out soon ???
I just had the Lindberg Minesweeper (1/125) and the Coast Guard Patrol Boat (1/82) finally delivered to my humble abode and I cannot wait to convert them to R/C as well as make them as accurate as possible within the confines of making them operable...
All the usual kits are available too; even my first conversion, the North Atlantic Fishing Trawler. Fun kits.

I wonder if I can get parts for the Blue Devil. I have one in the box in my basement, but its missing a few parts. Now that R/C components are more reliable, and better made, this bugger can be built up nicely. It needs all new running gear, most of what is missing from it. I think a turret is also missing.

Running gear is available at several LHSs. Shouldn't need anything unique. Missing parts that have duplicates can be scratched using the existing as patterns.

Haven't tried converting it to RC. It will be a little difficult getting a control arm on the rudder because it is mounted under a swimmer access deck well.
Some photos of the remains of the real boat here http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showp...3&postcount=17
