You've done a really nice job, especially on the stem of the boat where a lot of people seem to have a major problem. [X(] The stem on your model looks to have come together very nicely.
What is your run time on the 3000 mAh battery pack? What size motors are you using? Can't really tell from the pictures.
Congratulations on a very nice build. I'd really like to know more about how you built the stem because of all the problems I've read about in other Trojan builds. It is probably the one part of the build that has kept me from building my kit.

Video was nice. Looked like it got up on step but hard to tell since ther were no close shots of her going past wide open. I'd think it to be unusual for the wires to become that warm so as to smoke but a heaver guage is definitely needed.

I'm not too sure what area you mean when you refer to the stem.
The engines I went with are 2 Orion SV2 19 turn x2.
I Will be able to answer your question about run time on the 3000 once I run it for longer then a couple min. Got a few things left to do before she ready for long hauls.

The definition of "stem" is "The stem is part of the physical structure of a wooden boat or ship that gives it strength at the critical section of the structure, bringing together the port and starboard side planks of the hull." - Wikipedia
The stem is the bow and I was referring to the area where the plywood joined from the keel to the deck. The joint, as far as I could see, was very tight compared to 3 or 4 other builds I have followed.

Thanks for the clarity! I wish I could tell you that I had some special touch for lining up the stem so wel.... I don't, it just came together pretty good with some clamps and long arm quick grips.
On another note, I was re-wiring today after the little melt down, and I found the connector between the battery and the ESC was melted together.
What could be the cause of this?

I found the issue with the Tyima connections melting... Im told they can only handle about 25- 30 amps before they start to melt. So i changed all my connections to Deans Ultra connectors and every thing is good.
Im waiting for a Larger battery to come in that i ordered, but the 3000 MAH battery that im currently running the boat with only gave me about 4 min of run time.

Those that are used for the battery and are repeatedly plugged in and unplugged are more prone to this problem. The constant connect disconnect cycle gradually degrades the connection between the two. The contact resistance goes up and it turns into a little heater.
Replace it with a higher amp rated connector. Not all batteries come with a connector that can handle a continuous maximum discharge condition.
I'm sure that connector is cheap compared to the cost of the boat.

That boat was a gutsy first build. I did that one as my second and haven't completed it yet. You did a nice job on it. the directions for builing the boat were at best vague. Understanding the chine and getting the bow closed were the biggest problems I had. Then like you i just had to go and start alter things. LOL

Drifter1soc, I found your you tube post when starting my build and thats what gave me the idea of making up a fly bridge. I find it give the boat a more modern look. What type of ESC's are you running?

I'm glad my boat was inspiring to someone.I agree it gives the boat a more modern look without aking away from it. I put a set of 35 amp watercooled brushless motor marine speed controls in it. Running two 1050kv brushless outrunners. The boat it overpowered, but it runs forever on a 2good 3 cell lipos. I own several helos and a plane that runs on the same batteries. That also caused me to use connectors that can handle high amp draws and are polarised to prevent mistakes.

Wow beautiful boat. I started building mine about a month ago. The instructions are not fun. The front of your boat came out great. Could i ask what epoxy and/or fiberglass you used?
