Default Help in identifying a German warship!

Hi:

In 2012, I visited the Deutsches Historisches Muesum in Berlin, and I can't remember which is the ship model in the picture. As far as I can remember, it was commissioned in WWI.

I thought it was the SMS Nassau but no, this one has two aft turrets. Nor is the Deutschand, this one has a single funnel and the Deutschland had three.

Yes, the tired guy in the picture is me.

Thanks,
Robert

Hard to tell from that angle, could be a Baden class battleship as shown in this picture:

You mean the Baden, a Bayern-class battleship?

Maybe it is the same.

Thanks

The class has been called both, depending on the source used.
It is also possible that the model is of a Derfflinger or Hindenburg class battlecruiser. The only heavy ships I can find with four twin turrets arranged in superfiring position are the Derfflinger, Lutzow, Baden, Bayern and Hindenburg.

Upon further research, I found that the model appears to be the battlecruiser SMS Hindenburg after finding this picture that shows the same bridge and forward turret structure as the model

I'm in agreement with Hydro Junkie. This ship appears to be the SMS Hindenburg. I was studying various pictures on the internet, comparing mains and side mounts. I found one picture that matches the number of sidemount gun locations and the foredeck perfectly.
