Hercules tug
I have a sheet of plans for the Hercules Tug drawn by Bryant Thomsom, says "Radio Control Boat Modeler" on them. Was (or is) this a magazine?
Has anyone built this or have any knowledge of it? A friend had bought these years ago and sort of gave up - I was thinking of buying a bunch of wood and starting on cutting out the formers. I have scratch built a few rc model planes and have gotten interested in boats, but I'm not sure if this is a worthwhile project. I like tugboats, but maybe there are better plans or kits to start on? Thanks for any advice.

According to the description it's 38" long with a 7" beam.Not small,but not the largest.

The original RCMB got absorbed into one of the other magazines, probably Model Boats eventually. With the various company buy-outs and mergers and commercial swaps that have happened over the years, I feel that this particular plan may have slipped away, but there is a good selection of plans originally commisioned for magazines at http://www.model-dockyard.com/acatal...zine-Tugs.html Mostly of more recent ones. "More recent" in this case means "within living memory"..
If you like the look of yours, there is no reason why, using modern gear, and a bit of research and perseverance, you should not end up with a good working model to be proud of. Unique, as well.
