Its not a trick question, and it is a domescated animal, not a monkey, I will give a clue, it might give it away, it has been a symbol of bad luck, and being so, was placed at the right time and place in the movie.

I might have to see if it's still playing on the free movie area from my cable TV provider as I watched it a month or so ago. If you have that on yours I think that it was under Turner Classic Movies.

The small steam-boat used in the film to depict the African Queen was built in 1912, in Lytham St Annes, England, for service in Africa, and is now on display at Key Largo in Florida, USA. At one time it was owned by actor Fess Parker.[5]

I had to re-watch the movie because this thread popped back up ! I can't believe the boat still exists, it was a mess in the movie DECADES ago !

Anyone know were all the rapids scenes shot with models? some looked like full size boats, I am glad I didn't have to ride that thing in some of those shots !

Leeches still make me shudder :P

Billings Boats makes a 1:12 kit abt 29" x 8 1/2", but most of it needs to be disquarded or reworked. Kingston Mouldings makes an accurate fiberglass hull 1:10th scale abt 36" x 10 1/2"
