    billings boat beam trawler ( polar)

    i know it is a old kit , but have any of you built one . would like to get some ides on motors . prop's , i finally have one coming in from the UK ( iv been looking for this kit for years ) like to get some pictures of yours for detail

    15 volt 545, 35-40mm 3 or 4 blade prop, direct drive. Run it on a 6 volt SLA.

    dose any one have the instruction booklet for this polar kit ? cant find anything on there website , need help with the boom rigging . PDF would be great or the original .. thanks

    There were two members in my club who had one each. Sadly, neither is with us any more and the boats were passed on. They both ran them on what was a fairly standard set up at the time, a 540 and a Bobs Board (servo mounted resistance controller) and were almost satisfactory. The 545 would be a better match to the hull, any 15A ESC capable of handling 6 volts (i.e. pretty much any of them) will work, ignoring the ebay offerings. Look at Mtronics marine types.
