Help on propshaft for new boat
Hi everyone, I have just decided to get back into RC boating after a break of almost 20 years. I have aquired a 40" wooden
Cabin Cruiser for which I plan to install a 10cc Glow Engine.
However the hull doesn't have any Prop shaft, Rudder gear or Engine cooler intake installed and without the plans I am at
a loss. Can anyone suggest the correct angle for the Prop shaft and rudder size / location or is it down to trial & error.
I would be grateful for any assistance.
thanks

RE: Help on propshaft for new boat
I really think it's a matter of trial and error what with a lack of plans.
for effinency you want the shaft as parralell to the water surface as you can get it. but you have to: get the motor(engine in your case) in. Also the prop has to clear the hull. I would think the thing to do would be to make a longitudinal section drawing of the hull and try fit on that allowing some room for errors.
I will admit though, that I have NEVER worked with gas MODEL boats.
