Also keep in mind the antenna Bill accurately replicated as a possibility. This one would be good to make the actual receiver antenna. That's how I currently plan to 'hide' mine... (photo credit to Bill of course!)

Well you will never see mine in a photo. The beauty of 2.4 is that you don't need to have a long antenna outside. The rcvr on my Dauntless only has short whisker antenna and it is inside by the deck. You just have to be sure it is above the waterline. None of my fleet of 7 boats have an outside antenna and the range is as far as I care to control a boat.
On that note the farther away you run a boat the more likely you are to get a plastic bag, limb or other floating debris in your prop cause you just can't see them.

Bill is right, with a 2.4 system there is no need for running the wire anywhere because it will penetrate through the boat. At this point you can add the radar mast and the other antennas to be just for show.
It might be challenging for me to get the same benefit on 2.4 because most of the my boat structure is sheeted in aluminum..

Hi Deepsky.... As long as the pond isn't frozen you are in business!! I sailed my boats with snow on the ground.
By chance, are you located near these folks? If so you will have a good crew to sail with...

OK captains...stop messing around.....there is a pair of Astroflight Super Ferrite 25's on e-Bay right now with a starting bid of $50 each. These are brand new old stock. (NOS)...they don't make these beautiful power houses anymore which I believe was one of astroflights biggest mistake..
Each one is being sold seperately but they are the same seller...Here is your chance.... take a hammer to your piggy bank and win these!!!
They don't come up for sale very often...trust me...And (NOS) never...

See the gentlemans other listing for the other one..

Man those are the Rolls Royce of Dauntless boat motors for sure. Good find and thanks for letting us know. I'll keep an eye and bid if the price stays within my reach.
Also Rich check out this 1:16 scale figure. True to the Dauntless era and actually 1:16 scale. Pricy but maybe worth it to your museum-quality build?

Welcome Frank! If you go over towww.rcgroups.comgo to the scale boat forum and look up the userFrankG, that is Rich Kroland heis the owner of MACK products. He managed to save some inventory and is selling that via PMs on that site. He just might be able to supply you. There are a few threads over there about MACK and Sandy so that would be where to look for him. He has been able to help out several buyers since the storm.
Keep us informed on your build and we really enjoy photos.
Bill

Hi..
Reach out to Rich at MACK. Many of his products survived the flood so hopefully he could help you out. He has been posting updates on the RCGroups forums. Try Dock talk or the scale boats forum. He responds under the name FrankG.
-Rich.
Funny but I was writing this when Bill beat me to it!

Frank you might make contact more quickly by sending Rich a PM. Click on the envelope below his Frank Gname and send the message. That will cause him to get an email telling him he has a PM.
