Default Andrea Gail from Billing Boats

I got a chance to do a "box review" on Billing's new RC kit of the Andrea Gail.
1:30 scale, vac-formed hull, and lots of laser cut wood.
I imagine that modelers will want to cover many of the wood surfaces with plastic sheet to better look like steel, or even replace the wood altogether... same on masts/outriggers etc, brass tube will be nicer than wood.
A good number of plastic and brass fittings included too.

Is this a model of the real Andria Gail, or of the Lady Grace as used in the film ?

It's pretty close to AG, at least the early version, before the controversial refit. I see a few items that could be corrected- more details on the issue at
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=697098 (sorry Ron)

including links to pictures of the real AG (there's more out there than many folks know about).

Mr. Pat M.

Where were you able to purchase it? Since Tower dropped Billings, I haven't been able to find their kits in the U.S. At least not the newer ones.

Thanks for the help.

It's a review sample- will be discussed in a future issue of "Ships in Scale".
BB is working on expanding their US distribution; but you can check with PM Hansen in Canada, or Loyalhanna Dockyard in the US for expected availability (should be soon).
