Scratch built Elco 80 PT 109 JFK
Good morning to everyone.
I am a new member in this forum tough I am not a newcomer in modelbuilding still need some advise in this type of construction because as a former Portuguese Navy Senior Chief Petty Officer I think my love for military vessels are forever.
This is my second model of Elco boat and I assume this one should be better and there are plenty of information to complement it.
As soon as possible I will post some photos showing the diferent stages of building.
Details as the following : Scale 1/20 building material : wood (not balsa wood) : Propulsion system: electric 3 motors, 3 shaft , 3 1,75" metal props (as a funny information we can by dozens of this props for 2 USD in the Yatch market as pocket souvenirs yet it can cope for our job)
The mode will feature a special electronic device to transmit morse code ( entirelly pre programmed by myself and built by a friend of mine ) .
Regarding propulsion I intend to build it in the way one motor could allways run and just when it reaches 75% of power the couple of the redundant motors start as a boost .
Its all today thank you for your attention.
