Tug Floating crane...prop Q's
I am in the process of building a Tug which will double as a floating crane, mainly for the recovery of dead FE boats ( mine )
Basic layout is 20" LOA, 8-9" Beam and HEAVY
I have a 540 motor ( o.k lots of them ) and a 5:1 reduction box so that translates to 3500-5000 at the prop depending on all sorts of things
Is this RPM range good for a 50mm or 2" prop running in a Kort nozzel.
I do hope so because that is where I am about to arrive at.
I am after power this time and not speed for once.
I am looking at a 3 - 4 blade brass prop.
Opinions please.
