Help dying rope bumpers and fenders

Default Help dying rope bumpers and fenders

I ned some help. Im on the last leg of my tug build and I need some input on dying rope fenders and bumpers. What is the best method to dye them and what color do you guys use and how long do you let it soak in the dye for ?The last pic is the colorim looking for.

soak them in warm tea for a while or for a darker color black coffee

ive heard about coffee but ive also heard it has a musty smell even after its dry when the sun hits it.
