Anyone have or know where I can get a good set of 3 views or plans for a Higgins boat, better known as the LCVP. I know Taubman (sp) had them and I had a set I loaned out and never saw again. Maybe someone with his catolog could let me know the plan number.

Thanks, Hans

Here is a group that is building a new LCVP from scratch. They have plans for the full-scale version. http://www.higginsboat.org/html/project.html

The bad news is that they cannot copy the plans, yet. http://www.higginsboat.org/html/plans.html

However, this site may have a set of 3-views: http://floatingdrydock.com/

Dave,
Thanks much for the info, been after them for plans for a long time. I wish I had not loaned out my set! It was a good enough set to make a scale model from. Showed all the bulkheads, keel, frame work, the works. I even started to enlarge them to a 36" model.

Still would like the Taubman plan number if anyone has it. I can order another set from him.
Thanks, Hans

Well, found a set of plans. As a matter of fact I found 3 great sets. One set right from Chris Craft!

I am starting to work out the framework now in cad and will start laser cutting a test kit soon.

I also got a great set of plans for a LST and will work them up as well.

Nothing like landing craft!

Thanks for all the help, Hans

Good choice, Hans!
As a young Marine, I spent a LOT of time in 'Mike' boats, and they were the best water-taxi ever made for getting Marines to the beach or dock....
(whether the 'locals' liked the visit or not....)
Regards,
Hank
