DD557 USS Johnston, anchors, armament
Did the Johnston have one or two anchors?
Is there any set of pics showing the type and exact location of every AA mount (20 and 40 mm)?
Thanks
Robert

RE: DD557 USS Johnston, anchors, armament
Robert,
Like most Fletchers, or any ship for that matter, they routinely went upgrades and refits. She was lost in the Battle of Leyte Gulf in 1944 so it could be assumed that she still had most, if not all of her original armament. (6-40 MM and 11-20 MM) As for the anchors, routinely DD's removed one anchor to save weight. The pictures I see show anchors on both sides of the ship.
hope that helps,
Pete
