I received my plans from Floating Drydock, and they were pretty good, but I still have a questian, there is an area on the side of the boat, that runs almost the entire length and about half way down, bar armor is in this area some plans show it to be in a voided out area. An area that is narrow about 3"-4" at the top and gets to be about 5"-6" as it goes lower to the vertical middle part of the boat, some other plans show it different, can anyone point me to a model that I once saw on this site, thanks, Randy.

Something like that one, but it was of a fiberglass kit that they do not make any more. It showed the hull by itself and you could see the side of the hull with no bar armor or paint.

I googled Vietnam monitor boat and some other simular titles and went threw the first 50-70 hits, I did find the sites you showed, all the boats I found were either models, or plans or the actual boat in the water with the bottom part of the boat covered by water. the modles I looked at showed the recessed line where the bar armor starts going from the top to the bottom on the side of the hull, the plans show the recessed area starting at the top and ending at the waterline. I might go with the plans, but want to get some opinions.

If you look at the picture I linked above, the bar armor stops at the waterline.

The bar armor stops at the waterline on all the plans, pictures and models I have seen, except for one model, I am going with it stopping at the water line, my questian is there is a recessed area near the front of the hull whear the leading edge of the bar armor starts. In the two plans I have seen the recessed area stops at the waterline along with the bar armor, on the three models I have seen, the recessed area goes all the way down. All the pictures only show the boat in the water so you can not tell. I would like to find out befor I start building, Thanks, Randy.
