After trying to sell this kit for 3 mons. I have decided to build it. Feel free to add your comments.

Here are the hull formers and keel parts. They need to be sanded and glued together.
Thanks,
Fred

I am more than happy to watch you build it! :)

Please keep updating and posting photos as you build. This is a kit I would like to build 'some day'.

Yes, please don't spare the pictures.  This is one type of boat I've shied away from for one reason or another but I really like their looks.

OK, guys,
The building board is layed out with all the keel former lines laid out. The board is 1/8 in. lite ply. The keel formers are laid in and the front of the keel is glued to the building board. Former # 6 is centered on the keel line and the tabs are tacked glued in.

Sheer piece and chine pieces are placed into the front formers. Then the rest of the formers are place in. The other sheer and chine pieces are placed into the formers holding everything together. At this point nothing is glued. When everything is lined up all the keel formers will be tacked to the building board and the sheer and chine pieces will be glued in. Starting to look like a hull.

Starting to plank the hull. This boat will be built like a tank. The primary planking is 1/16 X 1 in. plywood. When the whole boat is planked the mahogany strips go over this. Very strong. Planking takes some time every piece has to be measured and cut.

The mahogany strips will look very nice indeed.

I have the bottom of the boat planked. Need to trim the excess and sand. Next will be both sides of the hull. I have decide to depart from the strip planking and sheet with a full sheet of balsa. This makes life a lot easier and when the mahogany planking is glued on , the hull will be bullet proof. I used sheet balsa at the bow of the hull.

Sub sheeting is completed on the hull. I sheeted both sides with 1/16 in. balsa skin. Both sides took all of 10 mins. to do with one sheet of balsa. In retrospect the bottom of the hull could have been sheeted the same way. I guess the 1/16 ply on the bottom will give it extra strength. The cabin area is next to be built.
