Resurrecting a Dumas 40' Coast Guard Utility

As the title says, I'm just starting to resurrect a Dumas 40' CG Utility. Boat itself is in good shape. I originally built it some 25-30 years ago. It hasn't been run in 20 years.
My concern right now is the electronics. I have in it what I believe to be a pair of 12 volt Graupner 600 series motors. No labels but the physical size and fading memory leads me to believe this. They're tied to a pair of Robbe gear boxes. Those bright orange ones Robbe use to have. Don't recall the ratio but that is on my list to find out. The ESC is an old 80 Amp unit by ACE. Props I believe are 1.75 inch. Another thing on my find out list.

My main question right now is, what would be a good motor, EXC, Battery combo to switch to? I feel the existing set up adds more weight than performance and would like to try to lighten things up as much as possible. Longer run times of course are preferred. I intend to use it to introduce a 5 year old grand son to the hobby.

Thanks all!

I would try a couple of places:
Mack R/C Products(no web site at the moment as it's webpage is under construction)
Loyalhanna Dockyard http://www.loyalhannadockyard.com
Harbor Models http://www.harbormodels.com
The Scale Shipyard The Scale Shipyard Main Page

I'd forgotten about those. Thanks Hydro.
Normally I'm an airplane or sailboat type. Don't have a lot of call for power boat stuff.
