Making an NKOK seaworthy
Ok ok ok... so I bought an ocean trawler on clearance... it showed pictures and had all the specifications, but didn't say what brand... after a bit of research, I found out that it's more than likely made by NKOK.
[link=http://www.hobbytron.com/RCOceanTrawlerRemoteControlBoat.html]See the $12 boat here.[/link] Since I really just bought this boat for the parts to convert my S-100 model into R/C... is there any way to make these components not rust up? Is there anything I can do to salvage the potential hazzard an NKOK ship poses? I almost feel ripped off, but for the price... what did I expect? |
RE: Making an NKOK seaworthy
Put the motors in the boat, and build some stuffing tubes to transfer power to the propellers outside the hull.

Much thanks, Umi. I'll see what I can come up with at Lowe's for the stuffing tubes.

You might have better luck at a True value hardware store. I know mine carries K&S brass tubing.

What's a good place to BUY a shaft and stuffing and everything already made up?
