February 8th is coming up quickly! Here is some breaking news. SubRon LA is planning a larger meet in August. This looks like it will be a two day event (22nd and 23rd). We received notification that some RC submariners from Northern California will be attending (and possibly other parts of the U.S.). Who knows, maybe other countries would like to attend too?

Anyways, it will be fun. I will not be there at the February run (prior commitment at work), but will shoot for the next one (March or April - it is not set yet)

So, come and meet us on February 8th. We look forward to seeing you.

The March meeting is cancelled. As we all weather this pandemic storm, it is with care for our fellow mates that we wait until it is a better time to gather. So, until conditions change we will postpone any future meet. I pray everyone stays safe and well.
Peace,
Tom

So while this isolation continues, are you building any subs? I will post some photos on what is on my bench in the next day or so. Stay safe!

So, kinda boring with Covid lock down. It will be another month or two before we try to meet again.
Went to the Colorado River near Laughlin, NV. a little bit ago, here is a video of the Walrus running.

Looking forward to getting together hopefully soon with the L.A. gang.

Hello, i found this post while looking for sub parts for an Engel Gato. Looks like you guys have a pretty good size group over in Yorba Linda. I live in the I.E. and run fast gas, electric and some scale boats at Prado on Sundays. Is your group still boating at the Yorba Linda park on Saturdays? Thanks for any info!!

Stikks...

With Covid concerns, we have not met in many months. We are active in our own ways and still stay in touch. So, the moment things let up in California, we will begin meeting again. The Gato, a favorite sub of mine..... You are looking for the mechanism to move the planes (Saw you post on another site). On my Revell Gato I used David Merriman's design.

This is the mechanism used to lift the planes on my Revell Gato.

Hello all, I'm interested in getting involved with the hobby more In SoCal. I have a couple of subs. Both need some TLC. It would be great to work with someone to get them back on the water.
Message me here or PM. when the plague is over it would be great to get together.

Next gathering!

SATURDAY, May 1, 2021 at the model boating pond (third pond to the right) of the YORBA REGIONAL PARK (7600 E. La Palma) 714-973-6615 or 714-973-6838; [email protected]) in Anaheim. It'll cost you at $5 to get in the gate of the park (unless rates have changed)

We are all use to the new rules with social distancing and masks. Some of the guys are vaccinated, but for those that are not, be compassionate and safe.

It was a beautiful day, started cool, but warmed up nicely. The water was murky, not the usual for this pond, but with Covid restrictions, maybe the maintenance was not the same. Anyways, it was a fun time even if we would have not put a sub in the water! It was just great to see each other again.

It was a wonderful day of running subs and chatting. I had an issue with my Skipjack (leaking water in the engine room). Met some new faces and many of the regulars. Consider coming out next time which is rumored to be September 11.

It was an outstanding time!

Jeff Porteous ran his 1/96th scale USS Blueback. What a fun sub to run and it ran well!

The next meet is October 23!! Hope to see you.
