Default sourcing a CN models 1/200 Alfa Sub?

Chaps.

I want to try my hand at building an RC sub and only want to work with scale models.

I thought about converting a suitable Revell kit (1/144 scale) to give me a model approximately 400mm (15.75") in length.

I do however hold a soft spot for the Russian Alfa (Alpha) class subs and see some convert a 1/200 scale (Approx 425mm/16.75") model kit made by CN models.

The trouble i am having is i cannot find ANYONE listing this model or even recognising the company (Google sends me to a chinese modeling agency!).

Can anyone help?

I am in the UK but can mail order globally if needs be.

Cheers

If you haven't built an RC sub before may I suggest you investigate two things:

These folks are an increadile source of knowledge and experiance:
Russian Navy Alpha Class Submarine

and Hobby Boss of China makes a 1/144 Alpha that will give you a 22" boat and a little more room to work with.

1/44 Alpha would work but checking out hobby boss's website. Its 1/350 making it only about 9" long.

Do you have a link to the kit your talking of?

Cheers

Sorry I just did a 1/144 google for Submarine and or Alpha the site I stumbled across said there's an Alpha in that scale but I failed to note they were out of stock. A look at my ususall sites gets the same result.

If you aren't hard over on the Alpha HAnnants has the ICM types II and XXIII in 1/72 nice big hull small boats to experiment with.

I have yet to try a submarine. If you look at the SubComittee you'll see you're looking at a good amount of cash to get anything more than a dynamic diver.
