Default Dumbest Tanker EVER!

Yes my friends, I am THE dumbest tanker EVER! To reach this pinnacle of stupidity it takes 3 essential steps:

Step 1: Accidentally reverse your one month old HL Tiger off a 10" high obstacle and break off the rear idler (again). This step was accomplished about a month ago.

Step 2: After having a blast with your MATO Sherman for an hour on Saturday morning getting it good and filthy in the back garden and then decide to run it around the pool deck to shed the excess mud at high speed before bringing it in.

Step 3: You guessed it, cut the corner near the pool steps too close, panic, over steer and then dunk said Sherman in the salt water pool thus frying the RX 18 board.

This is how you too can strive for the title of "Dumbest Tanker Ever".

Crud!

[sm=surprised.gif] I seem to recall someone on here driving their tank around in their yard then driving it straight into the house. They have a dog in the yard and new (pale) carpets inside. [sm=surprised.gif]

Do they now have a husband in the yard sharing accommodations with the dog?

We definitely all make mistakes. At least they can all be fixed and no serious harm done! No chance you were shooting video right?

I did that overcorrecting trick with my first (and only) R/C airplane. [X(]

Then I switched to R/C tanks and I've done much better.

Many a Sherman went to the bottom during various seaborne landings, you were merely re-enacting a historical landing

lol on the subject of rc planes a friend of mine had spent hours and hours and tons of money on scratch building a plane and was flying around when his dad (a career pilot in world war 2 and vietnam) asked if he could fly it.  Said friend told his dad it wasn't anything like flying a real planebut handed the controls over anyway.  As you can guess his father got the plane in an uncontrolable spin and took it for a nose dive into the ground.  Unfortunatly I don't have video of that one.

Perhaps you should try something like this mate, doesn't matter if it gets wet. Just hate to think what size box it would come in, plus you would probably need a cutting torch to get the parts off the sprues!

Yeah some of those "Jet" RC planes cost ten's of thousands of dollars. Imagine "over correcting "just a little in one of those. I saw a vid of one crash,  and the pilot looked as though he was ready to slash his own wrists. Talk about expensive blunders.

I have always wanted to get into RC flight, both helo and fixed wing. That vid of the jet crashing is why I haven't tried it. Shoot, I crash my tanks all the time and nothing happens. Imagine that to be planes and $$$$$$$. I'll stick to tanks and just watch the flyboys. LOL.

Me too, I can't seem to get the hang of them on a simulator and my only plane, a Hobbyzone Piper Cub LP was augered into the ground, HARD, after about 20 seconds of flight. That plane is a slow, biginer-friendly trainer, it is tough to crash them hard, butI rose to the challenge That was after much research, study and simulator time.

A friend at work is keen but he has had 4 heli's and on plane, they were short lived and he say's now he has a "parts bin". He has a powered glider on the way. I have suggested a simulator but he is doing it cold turkey.

I couldn't handle the constant threat of writing something off for a secods inattention, I need a hobby that is relaxing, instead of providing more stress, given my natural ineptitude.

Perhaps you are the Bravest Tanker too.

Fessing up to that sad error took some backbone. Only milliseconds of luck have kept me away from sad adventures like that.
