I'm a dyed in the wool Futaba guy. The Skysport T4YF is inexpensive without being cheap, reliable, long lasting and easy to modify for RC tanking. What kind of tank do you have? A four channel will take care of most any RC tank but 5 or 6 may be needed for certain others. There are some ultra cheap units out there but I have radios that are 10+ years old and going strong. I doubt these cheapones will pass the test of time. Futaba, JR/Hittec & Spectrum are the big boys.

if you are using it for a tank buy the turigy 9x great radio had mine for 2 years trouble free usinf a DM9 spektrum module the reason for 9 channels is adding extra funtions to the tanks

Radios are a personal choice. Absolutely get something 2.4ghz. After that, it's preference and features. We exclusively run Spektrums and like them very much. Whatever you choose, pick one brand and stick with it. It's easier that way.
