RE: mato axle size?
Thanks kclank,
I emailed www.rctank.de and they emailed me back a lot faster than I expected, was told they were 8.06 by them, placed an order so we will see.

RE: mato axle size?
Sorry I disagree with everyone. I measured with two digital calipers and a vernier and I obtained 7.96mm on all three.
This was one of the brass 3:1 sleazy excuse for a gearbox I got a while back from Mato.
I have to say after I got into those further I couldn't abide them. I sent two sets back to Mato. The straw that broke the proverbial
camel's back was when I noticed the output shaft on one wasn't parallel with the bottom section but rather was canted up enough
so it was impossible to get the output shaft centered in the final drive opening of the Panzer 3 I intended it for... not to mention it would never have tracked right.
From now on it is Tamiya gearboxes or nothing. several vendors sell them for prices not much different ( less in some cases )
than the Mato. Mato has the right idea but they haven't yet demonstrated that they can execute it properly. The Mato was $70 per set
and I've seen Tamiya's for less; they may not be geared as low but I'd rather start with quality and go from there.
