Hi Guys
12.7mm X 16 = 203.2mm, say 8 inch, though it looks bigger than that, in comparison? I recall reading that german armour did not appreciate NGS (Naval Gunfire Support) around Normandy, apparently 15 & 16 inch shells can really ruin your day & flip your tank.

Well, boys and girls, it's been another long day. It's Indian Summer here, for a while at least, and couple workers and me was sitting on the porch after pouring 3 more pads for the mutts around the house. So we're sitting there, quietly drinking a brew, the three boys is walking (goils already walked and were back in their Taj Mahal), and we hears this noise at the gate. Before we could even get up from the chairs, here's two lads climbing over the gate! Now, you gotta understand the culture and laws in this AO. Anyone coming inside the compound is fair game, as long as you don't kill them. After you work 'em over a bit, you call Milicia (criminal police...pun intended) and they arrive when the spirit moves them and proceed to work over whatever is left of the miscreants. No law suits, no charges against the property owner, nothin'.

So here's us sitting there somewhat aghast as these two fools commence to enter the compound, and the attached photo shows what they met (minus the snow...that will come in late January). Melik is the black devil, and Manya is the mahogany hooligan. Both boys are trained to attack silently if anyone comes over the walls. It was not pretty. And you got to understand that, with nothing to give you a scale of these two collies, they are probably the biggest collies you'll ever see. Both can put their paws in VCO's shoulders...said VCO being every bit of 4 foot 11. Alik (no photo), Melik's son, did not join the fray, as he's only 9 months, although as big as his father. Sweet as he can be, but dumb as a rock.

So with two large dogs hanging on to their tail feathers, the two fools went back over the gate a tad more speedy than they entered, albeit somewhat chewed. Milicia caught them a few blocks away, brought 'em back to us, we ID'd them, and off they went to the slammer. LOL. As they was putting them back in the aging Lada patrol wagon, one of the brave Milicia lads clocks one of the miscreants square in the tooth locker and starts screaming to him something about Whiskey Tango Foxtrot was he thinking to try to enter the American's compound. Methinks it was not pretty down at the substation for those two fools. We're still laughing. I'm sure when I speak to Milicia tomorrow afternoon I'll find that those two idiots are either not from this AO or were somewhat tipsy.

Well been keeping busy all summer around the place.Had the use of a track-hoe for several weeks and got a lot of projects done on the place. It's now sitting waiting for the owner to pick it up.Hate to give it back as it is a little work horse and fun to operate.
One project was my back drivway,re-shaped and re-rocked it so the trucks can get in and out a lot easier to the shop.

Well we had a late start to summer here in southwest washington state and fall has arrived (not ready for it ) and winter is just around the corner.Started moving things around in the hobby room getting ready for the rainy days ahead and the cold weather.
Going to start in on the HO train layout again as they can be a never ending project.A lot of clean-up work to start with (knock some of the cob-webs off ) and continue on.................Still should have some good weather left through-out October though, and have been doing a fair ammount of salmon fishing in the last month with more to come.Been smoking a lot of salmon
and my son-inlaw and daughter are coming down from Idaho for several days to go fishing and stalk up on some salmon (if the weather cooperates and dosen't rain hard and blow out the rivers.)[8D]

BIGMIG

For those who like smoked fish a couple of photo's from last year.Didn't take any pictures yet of the fish I smoked this year.I use one of the "little chief smokers".Allmost have the one I have now all worn out. They do last a long time if you take care of them.

Looks good dosen't it-make you hungry.........?

The weather has turned just enough to have the excuse to make chili 2-nite.

I'm gonna miss summer.

Here's a little story that'll warm you up ...
For my son's 13th birthday this year , my ex and I had decided that instead of the usual party
( with family and friends ) ; we would give him an helicopter ride ; since he's so found of them ...
We contacted a local company called " Wilderness " aviation and they gave us a deal for a 15 minutes flight for my son , plus an adult ; at a price of $150.00 .
As it turned out , they took my son , my ex ; and myself aboard a " Bell jet ranger " for a 15 min. flight over Sudbury ... and didn't charge us anything ....
There's still some good people out there !!!

I rented a mini-excavator last week for work and got the project done with enough time left to take the mini-ex up to the mesa property and do some work there. Besides driveway improvements and some dranage work I used it to expand my little " Tankland " .

It's the place where most of my movies are made and where my son and I play tanks. It was about 50 ft by 25 ft with some trails out into the woods. Now it is more than twice as big. I removed about 1200 sq ft of brush, leaving the trees, then dug a pit and made a hill. I also used the bucket to dig a nice "canyon" for a new bridge to cross. It is set up so about half the driveway drains through Tankland's river. All in all it was less than 2 hours on the mini-ex and some shovel work to expand Tankland and extend the tank road.

The dream is to have a circle road with pinch points so different battles can be played out on different parts of the circle. This is about 1/3rd of what I want to build.

I will split the cost of the machine with my client so we both get a good deal.

Oh, and riding in a tracked machine for two days beat me to h*!!, mucho respect for those tank guys who ride the real thing.

Pah that looks awesome! You're leo looks great rumblin' around there. And those mini-excavators are a great deal of fun, imho. I have a feeling that riding in an Abrams is a somewhat smoother experience than one of those little guys though...seeing as how a mini-ex has no suspension to speak of

Well the next day and another beautiful fall day.The grass is so green again this time of year, and the trees leaves are turning fast now. It's great living in the great pacific northwest.

Got all my wood split and stacked and everything cleaned up,and the reward will be lots of nice warm days and nights in my hobby room when it's nasty outside.Let my chickens out to injoy the fantastic day also.

Third picture ... can you imagine a 1/16 RC "Karl-Gerät" on the battlefield?

It was only 36 feet long, 14 feet tall and weighed 130 tons.
