Thanks guys.

It's hard to get a good photo of it since it's gloss-coated for weather-proofing, but you get the idea.

Very cool. Did you build the flatcar, too? Is that 1/16th scale? I'd have to look into the track thing, I don't think European track in the 40s was the same as American, 4'8" between the rails. If you built the flatcar, would that have been standard gauge for the time or did they have narrow gauge over there or what? I've been thinking about looking into adding some kind of short rail to my tank trail. As usual, I'll have to seriously educate myself if I do. This stuff can get complicated. Maybe that's why I like it so much!

The vidalwagen is cool, too, made of metal or plastic? I was thinking about looking at plastruct or evergreen to build one, but I'm not sure about flex. I want to do the Meilerwagen with the launch capability. Much more education needed there, too. I was even thinking of buying one in 1/35 scale to use as a guide. The hard part for me will be the Hanomag SS-100 truck to pull it.

Yes, I built the big flatcar (and 3 other smaller RR cars) for a railroad siding display on our club battlefield. It is I/16 scale and the track gauge is US spacing. About 30 feet of 1/16 track was built by another club member. Building an operating BR 52 or BR 86 locomotive was never a consideration. The track in the photo is what I made for myself. It is G scale rail strips that were widened to fit 1/16. I had to saw the G scale strips down the middle and widen each tie with 1 3/4 inch pieces of wood, dirt and sand could hide the crude conversion attempt.

The Vidal wagon is styrene and was a quick trailer to do. The SS-100 would be a neat build for a tractor, and there are a few other support vehicles that would be interesting to build. And don't forget the mobile Gantry crane that was us to transfer the V 2 from the road trailer to the launch trailer !!!!

Good luck with your project !!!

hi everyone, im a bit new to rc tank building I don't like the "ready to roll" models so I build my own. I`ve been needing help with my most recent build (M60A1 medium tank) .I don't know where I should mark where the holes should be for the gearbox and suspension rods. The tank is completely from scratch, no kit. I wont be able to work on it now cause I recently had surgery.

Thanks a lot, Rex. The second link is just great and I've already seen tons of useful info. The railcars are just terrific, too. One of these days I'll get this done. Like I said, I already have the rocket so that's a start. One step done, a thousand left til journey's end.

This was an old kit model someone had started and then just let it sit for ??years.............My guess this was a fairly spend y kit from back in the 70's...?? Wood is a little discolored but that don't matter......Kit was given to me.....Not easy to build.......

Thank you MAUS45,
The plane i'm working on is a Liberator B-24 D...........This plane for having all the bells and whistles has some of the worse building instructions and prints i have ever seen for being such a complex model.I have built a heck of a lot of models, but i don't have any idea how this will turn out of how many things i will by-pass on this model.I'm building it with the intention of it only being a static model at this point.?

Wow, B-24 D. B-24's were good fast planes. A lot of people don't know that it could carry a bigger bomb payload and was faster than the B-17. The fuselage fooled me. Although, I would have to say the B-24 looks similar to the B-25 only bigger and lower to the ground when it was taxing around.

Ya,i did not know it was one of the most produced airplanes (over 16 thousand built ) Doing my research on it said after the one plant was up and going that one came off the line every hour..........That is impressive to say the least....From what i read it wasn't the best flying plane, but never the less it sure as heck got the job done.......

BIGMIG

Until i got this kit i didn't really know anything about them until i looked them up and did some reading....

What brand is the kit? I'm also a fan of the B-24, which might be because I live right near willow run airport, which is where quite a few of the 24s were built. I've always been an aircraft modeler and even though the tanks are truly great, WWII fighter aircraft will always be my first love. To fly an ME-262? That would be heaven. Aircraft are also the source of one of my very greatest pet peeves - when people say ME-109. There's NO SUCH THING!! It's the Bf-109. Bayerische Flugzuegwerks (sp?). Bavarian Aircraft Works.

Here's just one of the photos of my work

I know it's not tanks, but I REALLY hope you'll post photos of the B-24 as you progress.
