I recently purchased some parts from eBay seller GoRCGo, which is actually ToyzCastle UK and ToyzCastle USA (which is in Hong Kong, I believe). I communicated with them about the Heng Long tanks. Here is an excerpt from an email from Mikey at Toyzcastle:

By the way, Heng Long is going to introduce a new premium line, and it's a joint cooperation with a company from the UK. Their first tank will be a Porsche Turret King Tiger tank, with desert camouflage color. Everything inside the box had been re-designed, comes with a carry bag, it's honestly a break through to their quality ! And later on, there will be 1/16 military figures + new brass 3:1 gear box, and stronger battery.

Do you find that unpacking the regular heng long tank is a disaster? Also, after you do some paint job, taking them around is almost impossible, coz the original box will break all the upgrades or parts. But this is no longer the case anymore with the new premium line. Our company is in the process of negotiation with this new line. Hopefully we will be getting some by end of June. Keep you update.

Yes, at the Toronto Hobby Show in Nov. 2010 there were some reports that it would be in Canada sometime in Feb. 2011, which of course, didn't work out because they are not here, yet.

I wasn't quite as keen on them since I have seen the pictures on various sites because I was hoping for the production turret version.

RCTankwars would be the only place in the US that would have them I believe. All the other sellers would still most likely be drop shipping them from Hong Kong when they receive the orders.

I personally have no complaints with the Porsche Turret design. I will take it either way.

I would really love for heng long to make a king tiger but all their new tanks come with plastic gears unlike the old ones that had metal gears

The HL KT I ordered from Mato this fall came with metal gears.

I still changed them out for mato 3:1 gearboxes, and fitted an SLU.
