I don't know what it is. A tank thingy... with a slide thing.

I like the camo job and the crew evacuation slide is a nice addition. I bet they saved many crews with that inovation.

My guess from the special camo pattern is that this unit was prepared to invade San Francisco or Los Angeles.
~~~~~~~~~
I think it was part of the Fighting 69ers, Rainbow Regiment.
I use Goggle to search but the book was right next to the computer so I gave it a try.
The book has this one...
It's amazing how many goodies are out there that I never knew existed. Here's the most obscure one I have come across so far (by accident) while doing a Google search for something else.
I like it. It’s cool looking. The ambulance one is also one of my favorites… and the 37mm, big guns are always nice.
What scale is the one you are building?
It's 1/16 scale. The Tamiya dual drive is a close fit and will drive it. I scaled up a line drawing to 1/16 and the body will be a piece of cake. All flat panels and NO RIVETS! I just can't resist this vehicle. There are a bunch of body types that could be made to interchange to fit on a basic lower chassis, but I don't think I'm gonna do that.
I'm going to take a break from tanks and do a few armored cars.
Rex,
It's 1/16 scale. The Tamiya dual drive is a close fit and will drive it. What is the dual drive and do you have a pics of it?
Thanks.
PS, Can't wait to see pics of this build as well.
Here's one source of the Tamiya dual drive that was suggested, and other drives as well........
I may post some WIP photos of this T 24 next week. I want to build this model as an R/C , but then I will have to build it with a closed canvas top to hide the R/C gear. I would also like to build it with an open top with a visible interior, but that can't be done with all of that R/C stuff in there. Right now I'm trying to which one to do, or both, or neither one. I'm too far into this project to give it up, so maybe I can come up with some kind of an interchangeable body arrangement on a common frame or something........ Or maybe some other kind of a miracle. Or maybe it will be easier just to build two...............
This is not a float in the New Years Day Rose Parade in Pasadina, California.
Name the tank .......... and get extra points for identifying the type of bullet proof vegitation that is being used. (It's gotta be a good defense against magnetic mines)!
Wow! Ya got it! I thought that would be a mystery tank forever. I found that in a website about the AFVs used by the army in India. Would ya call that a "grass skirt" camo scheme?
I don't think this has an official ID except for the designation "Jeep, Field Expediency Modification". I think it's weird ..... I think that's why I like it. Well let's see now .... where's my box of spare jeep parts?
My friend drove one of these at Camp Irwin for a while. He said it steers with two handles like a skid-steer. His job was to replace the tracks on tanks when they broke or came off the sprocket.
