Default Having some fun with an onboard camera

I took this video early on upon getting into the Hobby, it was a fun set up I had. I was sitting in my living room, driving only through the view of the lense...

Oh yeah, I remember that one!

I made a comment that someone might pick it up and take it too!

Hey Jeff, I remember that now that you mention it!

Hello Mad Modder, not sure what a hero camera is, do you have a link?

I used a small surveillance camera, and used a baby montor with a screen taped onto my Radio to view it while I was

driving.

Hello Shenlonco,

I will try to find the link and post later. I know you can get small wireless camera setupsall over. But I like this becuase I it linked up to one of those 2 inch hand held baby monitor screens and the camera runs off of a 9 volt battery. The battery fit on the Bulldog right in the last compartment on the turret, if you open it up.

Check back later..

See the page below,, I used the Baby monitor and camera set up on the lower left. And then bought the $35.00 color camera with night vision that is about halfway up the right. I used the large camera for a securtiy camera is has a great range of pan/tile. And used the small color camera for the tank and used the small monitor/receiver with my radio to drive. It looks like though they have some other options now from when I purchased years ago, I have purchase a lot more from them it all worked well.

Ah, ok.

Hero cam is a line of relatively small cameras made for filming in higher risk situations such as sports and being onboard cams for cars. Almost all of them come with high strength Lexan covers to keep the camera from being damaged. They've become popular for onboard filming for RC cars.

Shen,

That is OK but the $ 35.00 night vision camera on the website I showed you has something like a 70 degree wide angle range which helps to drive. The little pin hole black camera is about 20 degrees if that, and then the whole idea for me was to be able to make this thing mobile. So I could use it to hide, and send the tank into my good friends yard, and attack without being seen. Although I sound very annoying in this video, at least to me, I have mellowed since I made this.. it shows you what my set up is like. and how it works!

The Mad Modder,

Oh I have seen those they are cool but too big for what i was doing, and i can always cut some lexon and make a covering it need be! Thanks though, i may end up getting one of those for larger use projects!

Hey Shen,

Thats not too bad, heck they are cheap and the website I shown you has wide angle lenses you can buy. Give them a call though if you have questions they will help you out. What is you goal, what do you want to use this for if you can say here
