Default converting a heng long recoil

i have reversed, and modified a Heng Long recoil unit and installed a micro switch to work with a Tamiya MFU. Mechanically it seems to work ok, not great but ok. The immediate problem is that the sound of the cannon cuts out as the recoil is activated. It is somewhat overcome with turning the volume up. Can anyone suggest a remedy for this phenomenon?

I am not sure i can do much about the gear whine except turn up the volume.

BTW this has no resistors, diodes, or caps between the MFU and the recoil unit, and i removed the small circuit board from the recoil unit motor, so i am wondering if they (diodes, resistors, caps) are really needed or not. Of course i have no idea what is in the MFU.

Sounds good. A tank gun is usually a short bark, not the bang and dying out as in many units.

kclank Well done do you have a schematic for this,I think it is supper. quick snap when fired and then a slow return. ?what small circuit board are you referring to that you removed from the recoil unit motor.

there is a small circuit board on the base of the heng long recoil units covering the positive and negative poles of the motor. I removed it as i was unsure of any conflicts with the Tamiya MFU no schematic, just kept moving wires until it worked.

Are your batteries fully charged?? Perhaps the amp draw from the recoil motor is surging a low battery killing the sound???
