Default Mato Sherman - drive wheel paint?

What do you do to get paint to stick to that slick rubbery plastic that the Mato Sherman has as the drive wheel? I can't get anything to stick - acetone, lacquer thinner, etc all just roll off, so nothing seems to dig in. Anyone come up with a solution?

did you try Krylon paints
if that don't work you might have to get a plastic adhesion promoter
they use it the rubber and plastic car bumpers

Did you try scuffing the surface with sandpaper so that paint would stick to it?
