Default Long-time RC tanking comrade has died

To the RC tanking community,
it is my sad duty to pass along the news that a pioneer in our little hobby has died.
Henry Mergner was a good guy, and he probably owned more 16th scale tanks than any three of us. He was part of the group of tankers that started coming in 2003-04 to the indoor battlefield at the AAF Tank Museum in Danville. He was also one of the original members of the ACE tank club.
We will miss his enthusiasm for the hobby of RC tanking.
Let's think of a way to pay tribute to him at the upcoming September 2-4 battles.
Below is a note from his family.
-Dana

Hello,
I am Henry Mergner's sister, Maureen, and I found your information on his facebook page. I wanted to reach out to those he knew to inform them that Henry passed away this morning.
If you are interested in learning about the arrangements made for his viewing and funeral, you can reply to this email for more information... randmhall at verizon.net
Sincerely,
Maureen Hall

Condolences go out to Bill Will, Daryl Turner, Jake, Bret, Keith and all the ACE Club folks who knew Henry better than the rest of us tankers.

Dana, I'm very sorry to hear about Henry. I remember him well from D'ville. He was a great guy and an avid tanker. Our hobby is more the poor for his loss.

Sorry to hear this:

I remember Henry's name, and ~think~ I dealt with him a few times, but with my flakey memory, it could be just be memories of his posts on the ArmorHut.

I don't know any of you face-to-face yet... but I've dealt with a lot of you, and hearing another of the 'veterans' of the tanking community is gone spooks me. Makes me think of what my family will do with my stuff when the Crohns & its complications finally get me, and how they'll let my online friends in various communities know that I'm gone.

Let his family know he'll be missed...

Patrick / WhiteWolf

Although I didn't knew him I wanted to post and tell you how sorry I am for your loss, may the love of family and friends comfort you.
