Tom thanks for the compliment ,
ETO stopped selling the gearboxes, I think I got the last three he had but you can PM Boband ask. They are Tamiya original transmissions heavily modified with a cross brace check out Bob's Jagd Tiger build he has a good photo of them. Here is a link:

Look about halfway down the page and you will see several pics of his TUs.

A smoke generator is a great idea if it is only triggered after 2 or more IR hits. I think that would be cool and an easy way to see if a tank is damaged.

Panther G,
I have it on one of my spare channels with a Picoswitchand a relay so I can enable the smoke generator remotely whenever I want. Your right about it being seen as damaged, unfortunately with the generator running at it's current level of smoke output it makes the tank stand out like a sore thumb, making it an obvious target. If there were more tanks running them it would be less conspicuous. My thought on the switch was to run it when it had been knocked out to give the appearance of it smoldering and to just to be able to run it when not in battle.

YHR,
Actually it is one that I bought from RC Command before they went away, somewhat similar design although it does not have the component with the heat sink that is on the one that I bought fromPhil at Danville when he was there. It does have higher output as you can see by the video. http://youtu.be/IHuvtLBw-ko
I may put a couple of diodes inline to cut back the voltage slightly to reduce the output somewhat.

Thanks Dash!

I want to get one and hook it up to come on after the tank has been destroyed.
