Default Hooben T-55A Questions

Hey folks, I am thinking of purchasing a Hooben T55A, but have a couple quick questions;
1. Can I use an RX18 board with this thing? The reason why is;
2. Is it airsoft compatible? I don't really like infrared, and already have 1 airsoft tank.
It just seems cheaper to do this instead of paying for their overpriced CPU and CESC, and I can't afford a thinktank module(Right now).
Thanks!

I think it is a poor choice unless you need a T55,very little fits. No paint ball.

If its a modern tank you want, the ZTZ-99 could be a better choice.

I have read of folks using an RX 18 in it. This tank though is designed to be competitive with the Tamiya, It handles Tamiya electronics quite well. The elevation and recoil will work with SLU or Tamiya. NOit will not do airsoft. This is not a 6mm barrel it is scale barrel. You would have to do some major modifications. It is not an easy build, just look at the build threads. I think you should look another direction.

Alright, that makes sense. I was just looking for a decent kit that won't cost me a fortune. I might just buy a Heng Long tank and get a think tank module for it, the price would be about the same all said and done.

Yes you can use and RX 18. I use an RX 18, DBC3 and the Benedini sound system. Even if you aren't into IR, the DBC product line enhances the RX 18. It adds momentum, blocks the Heng Long recoil jerk, and just generally smooths out the RX18 to make it a fine ESC. The DBC2 and 3 allow you to upgrade to a nice radio. What differentiates the 2 from the 3 is the add on Benedini sound car. The DBC3 is an upgraded programmed chip to make use of the sound card.

I agree with others about airsoft though. The turret is small and the airsoft gun is large. Not a good mix.

I know this isn't the newest post, but at 1/16 scale, and with a scale 100, the bore should be 0.625cm, or 6.25mm yes? I am quite curious.
