Default Christmas Bummer M4A1

I really didn't want to use that heading for this post seeing as I have had nno issues with my Sherman for 2yrs and it was one of the reasons my buddy Armored Rabbit's GF got the Tank for him for Christmas.

When he opened the box and tried the tank and couple of things occured.
The headlamps were not working. ( Wires were not connected inside.)
The tank was glitchy when operating.
The Turret would not rotate at all.

Opening up the tank the loose wires were addressed. However the Turret will not rotate. We tested the mechanism it self directly through a seperate lead hookup and the gear mechanism worked just fine.

It seems that the main board(s) either the inside turret ciruit board which has the socket plug system or the main board is not working 100 percent.

Problem. He has sent a message to the exchange dept to Mato Toys so were waiting for a response and hopefully they can exchange the tank.

If not then we are left with a bigger issue. There are no replacement board accessories for the Mato Sherman. I thought that was very odd. That's a main component of the whole system. I thought there should be are replacment board.

If armored rabbit has to get a new board I hope Mato can provide him with one . Other wise I hope they will exchange the tank.

He was pretty down in the dumps Christmas Day when the tank wasn't working well.

My expectation with these chinese tanks is DOA, then I am not disappointed
Good luck getting it serviced, I have had good luck with Mato service.

It is a fact most of us buy these tanks for parts..... I have purchased two myself just to cut up for the suspension....

Ironically, I have thrown away two of the controller boards without a second thought. Dare I recommend a HL replacement board instead?

You can set up the mato to operate on an RX-18 system which is very stable.

Pershing.Driver that sounds great. Where did you get these boards? Are they the same as what's in the Mato Sherman?
How much are you asking for them?

The problem with that though the Sherman would sound like all the other Henglong tanks. The sound is unique to the Sherman . I am very surprised they don't advertise replacement boards specifically for the Mato Sherman.

They are the stock Mato boards that came with the tank. One If I remember is bad, that is why I have a second one. Phil sent it to me from RCTankWars. That is where I bought the Sherman. You don't need to go through Mato Phil can get boards.

I just checked his site out . It says "We will upgrade the elctronics for you for an additional cost" . Does that mean I would have to switch out the original electronics for a more expensive system or he could make a board that will work like the original and give it the Sherman sound similiar to the orignial board.
I don't understand why stock replacment boards were not made available. With that many Shermans out there from Mato you would think they would have anticipated the boards needing replacement at some point.

Maybe the original board is really that good. I know mine has survived a lot of abuse in 2 years.
