Default CAN-AM Battleday Feb 25th 2012

2012 begins with our first indoor event. The battlefield will only be about 25' by 40' and is located in the community center at our outdoor battlefield.

February 25th, 2012
Setup: 9:30am
Take Down: 4:00 pm
Bring a lunch
Coffee provided

Expect Tank warfare in an urban environment.

The cost of renting the hall will be $50, so bring $5 to help cover the cost.

Reply on this thread if you are coming.

Its on my schedule

Even though it is not best suited for urban warfare, I'll bring "Anneliese" (and at least a Tiger I).

The best we can do for terrain is our buildings. I am going to make some simple two walled ruins to add to our growing village.

Yeah, I don't think the Community Centre would like to have us "modify" the floor for terrain

It will be good to get out in February, we're lucky to have in indoor setting available there.

Does our club yet require the 'fire' indication, be it light or flash? As it stands I have neither recoil or flash/fire :'(

Sorry for the late reply.

I'll PM you a link for the batteries.

As for the motors, they turned out to be a bit more expensive than I thought. $25 a pair.

If any of you are interested in motors, we can collect $$$ for a group purchase at the next battleday, else email me to buy directly.

We have a little over 3 weeks to go before our 2012 kick off. I am busy preparing a 1:72 VSX indoor Battlefield so now would be a good time to purchase your 1:72 RC tanks from HobbyHobby.

Not gonna be there either...

No 1:1 wheels... ~yet~. Nephew still owes 1700, dad owes an even thou, and I've got just over a thou at this point.

I should have enough for a used Focus Wagon or summat similar before it warms up...

Oh, e-mail/ISP changed - its TekSavvy now (WHAT a difference~)

My email tab here is updated, so you can blip me via that.

WhiteWolf

PS: Hope to be in the scale Sandbag/duffel/tarp/tent-making industry soon...

Hey guys, last night I finished a house for use on the field / club, and hopefully by Friday I'll have 2 more structures completed! Just a question, what would the max height of a tank + apple be approx, say, for a drive-through structure.

See you all Saturday!

Just a question, what would the max height of a tank + apple be approx, say, for a drive-through structure.

My HL KT with its SLU applle is 8 inches, I would prefer a 9 inch high (minimum) height opening, to allow clearance on uneven ground conditions..

It has an internal antenna so the apple is the highest feature

SLU equipped Tiger I's with the internal antenna are lower than a KT.

Anything using an HL antenna will be limited by the exterior antenna, of course.
